I have no C.L.C.Idea!In lots of these articles we talk about visiting your careers library or connexions centre to find out more about certain topics. There is a large amount of useful information in the careers library and it is currently classified (filed or organised) using the CLCI (Careers Library Classification Index). This system organises information into groups. There are two main sections. |

Don't stress out if you go into your library and there is a completely different system. For some areas, Connexions services may be changing to a new system in the Autumn term. Some areas feel that as Careers Services have changed into Connexions Services, the CLCI needs to change to group all sorts of different Connexions information, which is not limited to just careers information.
1. Choices
2. Education
3. Free Time
4. Health (including sexual health and drugs)
5. Housing
6. Law, Your rights and Citizenship
7. Money
8. Relationships
9. Travel and Transport
10. Where to get help (directories etc.)
11. Work and Training
It may be in your school and Connexions centre libraries soon and there should be posters and booklets to explain how it works in more detail. Your Connexions adviser might give a talk in the library or you can ask them or your tutors for help if you get stuck.
Well, the systems are there to help young people like yourselves to access relevant information. So if you need information for action planning, CVs, applications or any other careers task, use the systems to help you find the right information as quickly as possible by following the system. Whether it is the CLCI or the CRCI, you can use it to save time wandering around the library like a lost sheep! Ask your Connexions adviser, tutor or librarian to show you with the system that is in your school or Connexions centre. If you can view classified information, you can access all areas to a great career!
Good Luck
